Terms of Service
Last updated October 19, 2026. These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Jural, the AI legal assistant available at jural.ai, operated by the administrator of the jural.ai service. By creating an account, starting a subscription or using the service on behalf of a law firm or legal department, you agree to these terms for yourself and for the organization you represent, and you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use Jural.
1. The service
Jural is a subscription workspace for law firms. It includes document analysis, contract review, drafting from firm templates, legal research with cited sources, case chronology, deposition and meeting prep, client intake and conflict check, deadlines and tasks, time entries from work descriptions, a firm knowledge base, and team and permission controls. Features available to you depend on your plan as described on the pricing page. We improve the service over time and may change, add or retire features, provided that a change does not materially reduce the core functions of a paid plan during a period you have already paid for.
2. Jural supports attorneys and does not give legal advice
Jural is a tool for legal professionals. It does not provide legal advice, it is not a law firm, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship between you, your clients or anyone else and Jural or the administrator of the jural.ai service.
Every output, including summaries, risk lists, redlines, drafts, research answers, chronologies, conflict reports, computed deadlines and time entries, is a draft for review by a licensed attorney. You are responsible for reviewing each output before relying on it, filing it, sending it to a client or billing for it. In particular, you must verify every citation and quotation against the source, and confirm every computed deadline against the applicable court rules, statutes, contracts and orders. Jural does not replace your firm's calendaring and rules review. More detail is in AI Use and Limits.
3. Accounts and seats
Each person who uses Jural needs their own account, and each account occupies one seat. Seats may not be shared, and sign-in credentials may not be passed between people. The customer may reassign a seat when someone leaves the firm. The account owner manages seats, roles and per-matter access walls and is responsible for the actions taken under the customer's accounts.
Solo covers one or two seats. Firm starts at three seats. Enterprise starts at ten seats. You must keep your account information accurate, protect your credentials, use a work email address and tell us at [email protected] without delay if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Jural to give legal advice to the public through an automated product, or to hold Jural out as a lawyer;
- upload content you have no right to process, or content that is unlawful, infringing or malicious;
- try to access another customer's data, bypass access walls, probe or attack the service, or interfere with its operation;
- reverse engineer the service, scrape it, resell it, or use it to build a competing product;
- use automated means to exceed or game usage limits, or create accounts to obtain more than one demo review;
- use the service in breach of law, court orders, protective orders, or rules of professional conduct.
We may suspend access that puts the service, other customers or third parties at risk, and we tell the account owner the reason unless the law prevents us.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Jural is sold by subscription only, priced per user, billed monthly or yearly in advance. The yearly interval is billed as one charge for twelve months. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period for the same interval and number of seats until cancelled. Prices are stated on the pricing page in US dollars and do not include taxes, which are added where required.
You can cancel at any time in account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Adding seats or moving to a higher plan or longer interval takes effect when the prorated difference is paid, which is charged immediately. Moving to a lower plan or fewer seats takes effect at the next renewal. Enterprise customers may pay by invoice for annual terms, with payment due as stated on the invoice.
If a renewal payment fails, we retry the charge and email the account owner. If payment is still not received, the account becomes read-only and then suspended until payment is made.
6. Usage limits
Each plan includes monthly limits per user for analysed pages, assistant questions, drafts, research questions and knowledge base storage, as shown on the pricing page. Limits count consumption in the billing period: a page counts when it is analysed, and deleting a document, matter or draft does not give usage back. Unused allowance does not carry over. When a limit is reached, the affected feature pauses until the next period or until you move to a higher plan. No plan is unlimited.
7. Payments are final
All payments are final and non-refundable except in the limited cases set out in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. By starting a subscription you ask us to begin providing the service immediately. Jural is a business service; where any consumer cooling-off right would apply, you acknowledge that it ends once performance begins.
8. One-time demo review
Visitors can run one demo contract review on the homepage before subscribing, and each new account receives one additional full review. The demo is offered once per person and per firm, is not a plan, has limited output, and produces exports marked with a watermark. The demo exists so that you can judge the quality of Jural's work before you pay.
9. Customer content
Customer content means documents, text, templates, playbooks, data and other materials that you or your colleagues upload or enter, and the outputs Jural produces from them. As between you and us, the customer owns its content and its outputs.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit and display customer content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service for you, including sending the relevant text to AI model providers that process it on our behalf. You confirm that you have the rights and consents needed to upload the content and to have it processed this way.
10. No training on customer content
We do not use customer content or outputs to train, fine-tune or improve AI models, ours or anyone else's. AI model providers that process requests for Jural do so under terms that prohibit training on customer data. We may use aggregated usage statistics that do not contain customer content, for example counts of pages analysed, to operate and plan the service.
11. Confidentiality
We treat customer content as confidential. We use it only to provide the service, disclose it only to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy who need it and are bound by confidentiality, and protect it with reasonable security, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and an activity log. We may disclose content when the law compels us; where allowed, we notify the customer first so it can seek a protective order or assert privilege. Nothing in these terms waives attorney-client privilege or work product protection held by the customer or its clients.
12. Availability and service credits
We work to keep Jural available around the clock, apart from scheduled maintenance announced in advance. For Enterprise subscriptions, we target 99.9 percent monthly uptime of the core application, excluding scheduled maintenance and events outside our reasonable control. If monthly uptime falls below the target, the Enterprise customer may request a service credit within 30 days after the end of the month, equal to 10 percent of that month's fees for each full 0.5 percent below the target, up to 50 percent. Service credits are applied to future invoices and are the sole and exclusive remedy for unavailability. Solo and Firm plans have no uptime commitment or service credits.
13. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these terms, the service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. AI outputs can be incomplete or wrong, OCR of poor scans can misread text, and research is limited to the sources searched in a given run. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete or suitable for a particular matter or jurisdiction.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, fees, goodwill or data, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability arising from or related to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees the customer paid for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, or to a party's fraud or willful misconduct.
15. Indemnity
The customer will defend and indemnify the administrator of the jural.ai service against claims by third parties arising from customer content, from the customer's use of outputs in legal work for its clients, or from a breach of these terms by the customer or its users, and will pay resulting damages, costs and reasonable attorney fees finally awarded or agreed in settlement. We will give prompt notice of the claim and reasonable cooperation.
16. Termination
You may stop using Jural and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for material breach of these terms that is not cured within 10 days after notice, immediately for non-payment after retries, for abuse, or where required by law. A chargeback or payment dispute opened without first contacting [email protected] about the charge is a breach of these terms and leads to suspension and closure of the account.
After termination, customer content is available for export for 30 days and is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive, including payment obligations, confidentiality, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity, survive termination.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the place of business of the administrator of the jural.ai service, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless an Enterprise order form states a different governing law and forum, in which case the order form controls. Before starting formal proceedings, each party agrees to try in good faith to resolve the dispute by email for 30 days.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. We tell account owners about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and changes do not alter prices for a period already paid. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel before it takes effect; continued use after that date means acceptance.
19. General terms
These terms, the Refund Policy, the Privacy Policy, AI Use and Limits and any Enterprise order form are the entire agreement between the parties about the service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent, except to a successor of your firm; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale of the service. Notices to us go to [email protected], and notices to you go to the account owner's email address.
