Jural
Partner reviewing a printed draft with a paralegal in a small law office

Small law firm software that replaces the stack

A firm of three to twenty-five lawyers usually pays for a practice management system, a drafting add-in, a research subscription, a calendaring tool and a spreadsheet nobody trusts for conflicts. Jural puts the AI work and the firm work in one confidential workspace, with roles, per-matter access walls and an activity log, billed per seat on a published price.

Where a small firm loses time and money

The pattern is familiar to every managing partner. Associates re-read the same discovery production because nobody wrote down where the key admission was. A partner marks up a vendor agreement that an associate already reviewed, because there is no shared playbook to review against. Intake arrives by email, the conflict search depends on who remembers to run it, and the response date in a scheduling order sits in one lawyer's personal calendar. At the end of the month, time entries are reconstructed from memory and the shortest tasks disappear.

Each gap has its own tool, its own login and its own invoice. The firm pays for five systems and still copies facts between them by hand.

What the decision changes for the firm

  • Billable hours. Draft time entries are built from the work itself, so the twelve-minute call and the quick email review reach the invoice.
  • Risk. Conflicts are searched firm-wide before engagement, and deadlines found in documents go on a shared matter calendar with an assignee and a reminder.
  • Review speed. Associates review contracts against the firm's own playbook, and partners review the redline instead of starting over.
  • One bill. One subscription per seat replaces several point tools, with usage you can see per user.
  • Control. You decide who sees which matter, and every action is recorded.

One workspace for the whole matter

Rolling Jural out across the firm

  1. The owner creates the workspace, invites attorneys, paralegals and staff, and assigns each a role.
  2. Upload the firm's templates, clause library and contract playbooks to the knowledge base. These are what every draft and review starts from.
  3. Import the client and adverse party list so the first conflict search runs against real records.
  4. Open new matters through intake forms per practice area. Each intake triggers a conflict report for attorney sign-off.
  5. Set per-matter access walls where a matter needs them. Lawyers outside the wall do not see its documents, drafts or search results.
  6. Work matters as usual. Documents are summarized, contracts reviewed, drafts generated and deadlines proposed, each waiting for an attorney to approve.
  7. At month end, approve draft time entries and export them in LEDES 1998B or CSV to the billing system.

Roles, walls and supervision

Jural uses four roles out of the box: owner, attorney, paralegal and staff. Per-matter access walls keep screened lawyers out of a matter entirely, including its search results in the knowledge base. The activity log records who opened, edited, exported or approved what, which helps a supervising attorney meet their duty to oversee work done by others. Client documents are never used to train AI models, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Details are on confidential AI for law firms.

What stays with the lawyers

Jural supports lawyers and does not give legal advice. Every summary, redline, draft and research answer is a draft for attorney review. Research cites only the sources Jural searched in that run, and Jural never invents citations. Deadlines computed from documents are confirmed by an attorney, because Jural does not replace court rules calendaring review.

The Firm plan from three seats

Firm is built for firms of three or more. It costs $49 per user per month billed yearly ($588 per user per year), or $99 per user month to month. Yearly billing saves 50 percent and is the default.

  • 3 000 analysed pages, 500 assistant questions, 80 drafts and 100 research questions per user per month
  • Shared firm playbooks and templates
  • Per-matter access walls
  • Conflict check across the whole firm
  • 100 GB knowledge base and priority email support

When the firm needs SSO (SAML), custom roles, audit log export and invoice billing, Enterprise starts at ten seats at $99 per user per month billed yearly. See AI legal assistant pricing for the full comparison.

FAQ

Yes, the Firm plan starts at three seats, and you add seats as more lawyers and staff join.

Every person who signs in uses a seat, and seats are priced the same within a plan.

No, Jural drafts time entries for attorney approval and exports them as CSV or LEDES 1998B for the billing system you already use.

Search results respect the same per-matter walls, so a screened lawyer never sees documents from that matter in any answer.
