Jural

Law practice management software with the AI inside the workflow

Jural runs the operational side of a law firm in the same workspace where the legal work happens. Matters, intake, conflict checks, deadlines, tasks, time entries, the firm knowledge base and team roles live next to document analysis, contract review and drafting, so the facts you enter once feed every step that follows.

One workspace for the matter and the firm

Most practice management systems store information that people type in by hand. Jural reads the documents in each matter and does the first pass on the administrative work, then hands every result to a person for approval.

Matters

Every client engagement is a matter with its client, adverse parties, related names, practice area, responsible attorney and team. Documents, drafts, chronologies, deadlines, tasks and time entries attach to it automatically, so the file is complete without a separate filing step.

Intake

Intake forms per practice area collect the facts you need before engagement: family, estate planning, personal injury, business formation, employment and more. Answers arrive as structured data in a new matter, ready for the conflict check and the engagement letter.

Conflicts

Each intake runs a conflict search across current and former clients, adverse parties and related names in the firm's records, with fuzzy matching for spelling variants, maiden names and entity suffixes. Jural produces a conflict report that an attorney reviews and signs off before the firm accepts the engagement.

Deadlines and tasks

Jural reads scheduling orders, notices, pleadings and contracts and proposes deadlines: response dates, hearing dates, discovery cutoffs, contract notice periods. Each one lands on the matter calendar with an assignee and reminders once an attorney confirms the computed date. Jural does not replace court rules calendaring review.

Time entries

Jural turns notes, emails and the activity it sees in a matter into draft time entries with a narrative and a duration. Each timekeeper approves, edits or deletes their own entries. UTBMS task and activity codes can be applied where your clients require them.

Knowledge base

Templates, precedents, playbooks and past work product sit in a firm library searchable by meaning, not only by file name. Search respects permissions, so a walled matter never surfaces in someone else's results.

Roles and permissions

Owner, attorney, paralegal and staff roles set what each person can do. On Firm and Enterprise, per-matter access walls limit a matter to the people assigned to it, and the activity log records who opened, edited and approved each item.

How a new matter runs through Jural

  1. A prospective client completes the intake form for the practice area, or a paralegal enters the call notes.
  2. Jural creates the matter and runs the conflict search across clients, adverse parties and related names.
  3. An attorney reviews the conflict report and signs off, or declines the engagement.
  4. Jural drafts the engagement letter from the firm template with the client name, scope and fee terms.
  5. Documents uploaded to the matter are summarized, and deadlines found in them are proposed for confirmation.
  6. Work on the matter produces draft time entries that each timekeeper approves at the end of the day.
  7. Approved time exports to the firm's billing system as CSV or LEDES 1998B.

What Jural does not do

Jural is not a billing or accounting system. It exports approved time to the billing system your firm already uses as CSV or LEDES 1998B, and it does not do trust accounting, IOLTA reconciliation or client invoicing. It does not take client payments. If your firm needs those functions, keep your billing tool and let Jural feed it clean, approved time.

  • No trust accounting or IOLTA ledgers
  • No client invoicing or payment collection
  • No filing with courts or e-service
  • Every conflict report and computed deadline needs attorney sign-off

Jural supports lawyers and does not give legal advice. Every output is a draft for attorney review.

Why the AI belongs inside practice management

When the AI tool and the practice management system are separate, someone copies facts between them. The client's name is typed into intake, again into the conflict spreadsheet, again into the engagement letter, and the hearing date from the scheduling order is typed into a calendar by hand. In Jural, the matter is the single source: intake answers become the conflict search, the conflict-cleared client fills the engagement letter, and the deadline proposed from the order links back to the page it came from.

  • Facts entered once, reused across modules
  • Every proposed date or conflict hit points to its source
  • Time captured from the work itself instead of from memory at month end

Who uses Jural for practice management

Solo attorneys use it to run intake, conflicts and deadlines without a second system or staff. Managing partners of small and mid-size firms use it to see every matter, every deadline and every unbilled hour in one place, with control over who sees which matter. Paralegals and legal assistants use it for intake, conflict searches, calendaring and first drafts. Firm administrators on Enterprise use SSO, custom roles, audit log export and data retention controls.

Confidential by design

Client documents are never used to train AI models. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Per-matter walls on Firm and Enterprise keep each matter visible only to its team, and the activity log shows every access and approval.

Plan availability

All eleven modules, including intake, conflicts, deadlines and time entries, are on every plan. Solo covers one or two seats at $24 per user per month billed yearly ($288 per user per year) or $49 monthly. Firm starts at three seats at $49 per user per month billed yearly or $99 monthly and adds the firm-wide conflict check, shared playbooks and templates, and per-matter access walls. Enterprise starts at ten seats at $99 per user per month billed yearly or $199 monthly and adds SSO (SAML), custom roles, audit log export and annual invoice billing.
