Legal case management software that reads the matter file with you

In Jural, each matter is a workspace that holds the documents, the chronology of facts, the tasks and deadlines, the drafts and the team. Jural reads what you upload, so the matter knows its own parties, dates and open questions, and every fact in it points back to the document and page it came from.

Everything about the matter in one place

A matter in Jural is more than a folder. It is the working file for the people assigned to it, with the AI reading alongside them.

Documents

Upload pleadings, discovery productions, correspondence, contracts, medical records or financial disclosures as PDF, DOCX or scans. Jural runs OCR on scans, keeps page numbers and Bates numbers, and writes a summary for each document with parties, dates, obligations and defined terms. Ask a question about the file and the answer cites the document and page.

Chronology

Jural builds a dated timeline of events from the whole matter file, with the source document and page for each entry. When two documents disagree on a date or a fact, it flags the contradiction so the team can decide which source controls. The chronology exports to DOCX for a memo or to CSV for a trial exhibit list.

Tasks and deadlines

Deadlines that Jural finds in scheduling orders, notices and contracts are proposed for the matter calendar. An attorney confirms each computed date, then it gets an assignee and reminders. Tasks come from meeting notes and deposition prep, or are created by hand.

Team

Assign an attorney of record, associates, paralegals and staff to each matter. Everyone works from the same documents, chronology and task list, and the activity log shows who did what.

Drafts and research

Letters, motions shells and agreements drafted from firm templates stay inside the matter with the facts they used. Research answers saved to the matter keep their citations to the passages Jural searched.

Per-matter access walls

Some matters must stay invisible to most of the firm: a lateral hire's former client, a high-profile dispute, a matter with a personal conflict. On Firm and Enterprise plans, a per-matter wall limits the matter to the people assigned to it. Walled documents do not appear in anyone else's search, knowledge base results or assistant answers, and every access is recorded in the activity log. Enterprise adds custom roles and audit log export for firms that report on access.

  • Only assigned people see a walled matter
  • Walled content stays out of firm-wide search and answers
  • Every open, edit and approval is logged

How a matter comes together

  1. Open the matter from intake or create it by hand, with client, adverse parties and related names.
  2. Upload the file, one document at a time or a full production within your plan's page allowance.
  3. Jural summarizes each document and drafts the chronology with source page references.
  4. Proposed deadlines wait for attorney confirmation before they reach the calendar.
  5. The team works from the summaries and chronology, asks questions, drafts and saves research to the matter.
  6. Approved outputs export as DOCX, CSV or LEDES 1998B time.

What Jural does not do

Jural supports lawyers and does not give legal advice. Every summary, chronology entry and draft is a draft for attorney review. Jural does not file with courts or serve documents, and it does not replace court rules calendaring review, so computed deadlines are confirmed by an attorney. A large production counts against your plan's monthly page allowance, and deleting a document does not give pages back. Client documents are never used to train AI models.

Who uses the matter workspace

Litigation associates use the chronology and page-referenced answers to prepare depositions and motions. Paralegals manage documents, tasks and deadlines across matters. Family and personal injury practices use it to sort financial disclosures and medical records into timelines. Managing partners see the state of every matter without asking for a status memo.

Plan availability

The matter workspace, documents, chronology, tasks and team are on Solo, Firm and Enterprise. Per-matter access walls start on Firm, which begins at three seats at $49 per user per month billed yearly or $99 monthly. Solo covers one or two seats at $24 per user per month billed yearly. Monthly analysed page allowances per user are 1 000 on Solo, 3 000 on Firm and 6 000 on Enterprise.
